You just had to click on it, didn’t you?

Are you wondering what it means? Or how it came to be?

In the search to name my company, one thing I noticed was my initials, T.P. When you say them together you get tepee. I decided to see what I could do with that.

I could have gone a couple of directions, TP as in toilet paper or tepee as in wigwam. The toilet paper route would have been rather funny, but might have some negative connotations. (I wasn’t to keen on having my work be thought of as ass wipe.) So I decided to try the other route.

The creative process of designing a logo is exciting, and one of my favorite design challenges. There is a point when all the elements just fit. A sort of ‘eureka’ moment.

When developing this logo, it began to take on the personality of an Asian character. Asian characters have a beautiful natural flow, simple yet complex. My mother asked me when first seeing the logo; “What kind of Asian symbol is that?” When I explained it was a wigwam/tepee she thought it was pretty darn cool. And when your mom thinks something is cool....well, you get the picture.

The logo also has a few other symbols in it, like TPD and an eye. And if you look hard enough you can see a little man sitting in the entrance. Okay, not really.
